2019 CALL FOR PAPERS

The 2019 SAM International Management Conference is the annual event hosted by the Society for Advancement of Management.  SAMIMC2019 is an international conference that provides a platform for academicians, researchers, industry experts, and students to present their quality research.

Submission Tracks

The Society for Advancement of Management invites you to submit your academic work to one of our different tracks:

Track 1: Scholarly Research

Presentations in this track will focus on one of the following three areas of scholarship:

  1. Basic or discovery scholarship that generates and communicates new knowledge and understanding and/or development of new methods. Intellectual contributions in this category are normally intended to impact the theory, knowledge, and/or practice of business.
  2. Applied or Integration/application scholarship that synthesizes new understandings or interpretations of knowledge or technology; develops new technologies, processes, tools, or uses; and/or refines, develops, or advances new methods based on existing knowledge. Intellectual contributions in this category are normally intended to impact the practice of business.
  3. Teaching and learning scholarship that develops and advances new understandings, insights, and teaching content and methods that impact learning behavior. Intellectual contributions in this category are normally intended to impact the teaching of business (AACSB 2013 Accreditation Standards).

Track 2: Student Research

This track is limited to research presentations of student work both graduate and undergraduate with a focus on one of the following three areas of scholarship:

  1. Basic or discovery scholarship that generates and communicates new knowledge and understanding and/or development of new methods. Intellectual contributions in this category are normally intended to impact the theory, knowledge, and/or practice of business.
  2. * Joint Faculty and Student research should be directed to the Faculty/Student Research track.

Track 3: Faculty/Student Research

This track is limited to research presentations that are joint Faculty and Student research.  However, the majority or preferably all the presentation will be done by the student.

Research in this track will focus on the same scholarship areas as in the Scholarly Research track.

Track 4: Practitioner Research and Presentations

Two options are available for practitioners: The first option is for presentations that provide a real-world perspective on management issues within organizations and will be targeted at providing members of SAM a view of these management issues from the practitioner perspective. The second option is the presentation of case studies that focus on contemporary, real-world management issues.

Track 5: Symposium, Workshop, and Panels

We invite those interested to submit a proposal for a workshop in either panel or presentation format. These sessions should focus on an area in our Research Concentration section and provide an added value for our conference attendees. Workshops are provided exclusive programming time separate from other presentations and we encourage panel style sessions to include participation from various disciplines and organizations.
