Shelby Perry

Board Member

Shelby Perry is an Adjunct Professor of Business /Healthcare Management at the New England Institute of Technology (NEIT). With a strong foundation in public health and business, she brings a cross-functional approach to higher education, bridging strategy, ethics, leadership, marketing, and health systems to prepare students for complex, real-world challenges. She worked as a teaching/research assistant at NEIT before transitioning to a professor.

 

Shelby holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Johnson & Wales University (JWU) and a Master of Public Health from New England Institute of Technology (NEIT). She currently serves as the Rhode Island Public Health Association (RIPHA) Communications Chair and the Northeastern Educational Research Association (NERA) Membership Chair, both of which she was a member of throughout her education. She learned of SAM while completing her MPH degree and has been a member since 2021.

 

In 2022, she founded “Operation: LifeLines”, a non-profit organization that researches the gap of education in human trafficking prevention education within the healthcare industry. This organization has truly changed many individuals lives. Shelby competed in SAM in 2022 and 2023. She won Regional and National Outstanding Student Awards in 2022. She served as Chapter President in 2023, bringing one of the largest NEIT groups to Nashville, TN. Here, her team won 3 rd place in the Open Division and herself winning International Collegiate Member of the Year.

 

Shelby currently serves as the Chapter Advisor for NEIT.
