After a career spanning over 30 years in the financial services and insurance sectors, where he held roles in marketing, operations, and technology management—including positions as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Information Officer—Marc transitioned into academia in 2006 as an instructor of Management and Marketing at West Texas A&M University. Marc went on to earn his Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) in Strategic Management in 2013 from Kennesaw State University. He joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor of Management at Marshall University in August 2013.
Today, Marc is a full Professor of Management Strategy and holds the Elizabeth McDowell Lewis Endowed Professorship in the Management and Health Care Administration department of the Lewis College of Business and the Brad D. Smith Schools of Business. He is a versatile academic who teaches strategy courses at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral (DBA) levels, and he leads a seminar on Business Pedagogy in the College’s DBA program. His teaching portfolio also includes courses on ethics.
His research interests are diverse, with publications covering strategy, human capital, ethics, information technology, pedagogy, experiential learning, and artificial intelligence, demonstrating his depth of knowledge and versatility. He has over 20 peer-reviewed publications and four book chapters.
