SAM INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS CONFERENCE 2025

ADVANCING MANAGEMENT:
INTEGRATING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE WITH HUMAN INGENUITY

MARCH 17 - 22, 2025

The Society for Advancement of Management (SAM) invites you to participate in its 2025 International Business Conference in Orlando, Florida. SAM is the world’s oldest professional management association, the publisher of the peer-reviewed SAM Advanced Management Journal, and the home of the International Business Skills Championship that occurs during the annual Conference. SAM is dedicated to the advancement of management research, practice and education and our 2025 International Business Conference marks the 80th year in which this platform brings together academicians, researchers, industry experts, practitioners, and students to present and share their ideas, to interact, and to explore future collaborations.

EARLY BIRD SUBMISSION DEADLINE

DECEMBER 15, 2024

In our post-pandemic world, we face the reality of ever-challenging change and the need for an inventive mindset. This unique moment offers an opportunity for leaders and managers to reimagine and reshape existing organizational practices and advocate for new practices that innovatively disrupt our current landscape, redefining success across all sectors and countries. With the AI Revolution driving new business realities, identifying and promoting scientific management principles is now more critical than ever. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) with human ingenuity stands at the forefront of this transformation. Adaptability to change, while remaining true to an organization’s mission, will be the hallmark of current and future leaders. While adaptability is critical to future success, organizations must proceed with wisdom rather than an urgency to adopt popular, yet untested trends. This requires an evidence-based approach derived from careful research and critical analysis. The integration of AI with human expertise offers a powerful combination that can drive organizational success, but it must be approached thoughtfully and strategically. Whatever shape the future world of business takes, leadership and management will be forced to evolve. Stakeholder and market expectations and needs are uncertain, complex, and unfolding. Safeguarding core practices and values allows organizations to maintain a strong foothold while encouraging the exploration of new ways to thrive in an uncertain future. The Society for the Advancement of Management invites academicians, practitioners, and students to submit papers that explore these important concepts and their application to management practice, research, and education. We are particularly interested in reviewing and publishing papers that address the following themes:
Integrating AI with Human Decision-Making:  Exploring how AI can augment human decision-making processes and enhance organizational outcomes.
Ethical Considerations in AI Implementation:  Examining the ethical implications of AI in business and how organizations can navigate these challenges responsibly.
AI and Innovation:  Investigating how AI can drive innovation and create new opportunities for organizational growth and success.
Leadership in the Age of AI:  Understanding the changing role of leadership in organizations that leverage AI technologies.
AI and Workforce Transformation:  Analyzing the impact of AI on the workforce and strategies for managing this transition effectively.
Data-Driven Decision Making:  Highlighting the importance of data analytics in informing strategic decisions and improving business performance.
Join us at the 80th Annual Business Conference as we collaborate and advance opportunities to reimagine the world of management and build even better futures. Submit your papers and be part of a pioneering discussion on how AI and human ingenuity can be integrated to drive powerful organizational success. Please submit your abstracts and papers via our online submission system powered by EASYCHAIR, visit www.samnational.org/cfpsubmission For more information, visit our conference website at SAMnational.org or contact us at [email protected]. We look forward to your contributions and to advancing the field of management together!

The Society for Advancement of Management International Business Conference (SAM-IBC) welcomes a diverse range of research methods and is open to papers, presentations, posters, workshops, symposiums, and panels that rely on statistical inference, qualitative data, verbal theory, computational models, mathematical models, literature review, and case studies. SAM-IBC invites you to submit any of the following types of your academic work to the conference:

Type 1: Scholarly Research

Presentations in this submission type will focus on one of the following three areas of scholarship:

Basic or discovery scholarship that generates and communicates new knowledge and understanding and/or development of new methods. Intellectual contributions in this category are normally intended to impact the theory, knowledge, and/or practice of business.

Applied or integration/application scholarship that synthesizes new understandings or interpretations of knowledge or technology; develops new technologies, processes, tools, or uses; and/or refines, develops, or advances new methods based on existing knowledge. Intellectual contributions in this category are normally intended to impact the practice of business.

Teaching and learning scholarship that develops and advances new understandings, insights, and teaching content and methods that impact learning behavior. Intellectual contributions in this category are normally intended to impact the teaching of business (adopted from the AACSB 2013 Accreditation Standards).

Type 2: Student Research

This submission type is for research presentations of student work both graduate and undergraduate that focus on one of the following three areas of scholarship:

Basic or discovery scholarship that generates and communicates new knowledge and understanding and/or development of new methods. Intellectual contributions in this category are normally intended to impact the theory, knowledge, and/or practice of business.

Applied or Integration/application scholarship that synthesizes new understandings or interpretations of knowledge or technology; develops new technologies, processes, tools, or uses; and/or refines, develops, or advances new methods based on existing knowledge. Type 4: Practitioner Research and Presentations

Two options are available for practitioners. The first option in this submission type is for presentations that provide a real-world perspective on management issues within organizations; these presentations seek to provide members of SAM a view of these management issues from the practitioner perspective. The second option in this submission type is for the presentation of original case studies that focus on contemporary, real-world management issues and provide recommendations for management practice and/or education.

Type 5: Symposium, Workshop, and Panels

This submission type is for those who would like to present a workshop in either panel or presentation format. These sessions will relate to the Conference theme, and enhance positive Conference impact and meaningful take-aways for Conference attendees. When possible, workshops and panels are provided exclusive programming time separate from other presentations and are encouraged to envision participation from various disciplines and organizations.
