Dave Larson

Board Member

Dave is currently an Associate Professor Emeritus of Management Information Systems at the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS).

Prior to his retirement, he was the Interim Associate Dean for the College of Business and Management and an Associate Professor of Management Information Systems.

Dave primarily teaches graduate and undergraduate Project Management courses and his research activities have been in the areas of ethics, project management, and online teaching.

Prior to joining the University of Illinois’ Management Information Systems (MIS) department as a full-time faculty member, he served for fourteen years at UIS as a lecturer, teaching courses for both the MIS and Computer Science Departments.

Dave has over 32 years of professional experience in Management Information Systems field working for the Illinois Department of Transportation and Illinois State Police. He served in various management capacities within both agencies.

He has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Business, both from the University of Illinois at Springfield and a doctorate in Education from Illinois State University.

Dave is certified as a Master Online Teacher, Project Management Professional, Certified Computing Professional and Six Sigma Black Belt.

He currently serves a Board member for the Society for Advancement of Management and is the Immediate Past President of the Midwest Association for Information Systems.
